Robert Chang Chien (張簡長倫) is an international award-winning Taiwanese film director, photographer, interdisciplinary artist, educator, and experience designer. He is also the founder and creative director of Studio Salix White, currently working between Europe and Asia.

Holding an MA in Information Experience Design (Moving Image) from the Royal College of Art, UK, and a Master’s in Architecture from National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, Robert’s work explores intangible and ephemeral concepts such as memory, consciousness, transcendence, solitude, and perception, spanning photography, installation, film, projection, and VR. His art engages with philosophy, psychology, and cosmology, with exhibitions in London, Paris, Tokyo, Taipei, Reykjavik, and New York.

As a photographer, he has held solo exhibitions and published Misted Essence, winning PX3 Paris and IPA New York awards, with works featured in Photo Vogue Italia, Somewhere Magazine, If You Leave, Oh Comely, and other international publications. As an educator, he has not only lectured and led workshops at over twenty universities and organisations, but also teaches "Cinematic Colour Grading in Photography" on Hahow, an online educational platform, reaching thousands of students, and has conducted long-term thematic workshops advocating experimental, internationally oriented aesthetic education.

Now focused on directing, he works across various genres, including narrative films, documentaries, music videos, commercials, and immersive cinema. His short film Fish in the Moon was screened in Taipei, and he was a fashion film director for London Fashion Week. His latest documentary film, Ambiguous Borders, was filmed in multiple cities across Europe and Asia, and screened at the National Theater of Taiwan. His research on Arctic Solastalgia led to the award-winning experimental film Narstalgia, later adapted into an immersive film exhibited in the UK, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, and Iceland, expanding his international influence. 

Rooted in poetic and cinematic visuals, his creative process yields multi-sensory experiences. As a passionate traveler fluent in multiple languages, Robert has explored nearly 30 countries, utilizing art and design to connect and heal. Currently, he lives with his three-year-old doggie named Nessie.


       張簡長倫(Robert Chang Chien)為旅英導演、製作人、跨領域藝術家、攝影師、設計師與教育者，15年影像專業經驗，旅行足跡30國，現為白柳感官設計團隊主理人暨創意總監，具豐富跨國製作實務經驗。

畢業於英國皇家藝術學院-資訊體驗設計所-動態影像組與成功大學建築所-設計組雙碩士，擅長探討並具象化無形事物，如記憶、超越性、總觀效應、孤獨、愛與感知。創作領域跨攝影、電影、動態影像、裝置、投影等，創作與研究核心圍繞哲學、符號學、心理學、太空與宇宙科學；作品於倫敦、紐約、巴黎、東京、雷克雅維克、布拉格、台北、光州、墨爾本等地展出與放映。

攝影方面，多次舉辦個展、出版攝影集，獲巴黎PX3與紐約IPA國際攝影比賽多類別數十個獎項 ；曾受邀刊登作品於Somewhere Magzine、If you leave、Oh Comely、Photo Vogue Italia等國際平台及出版物。教育方面，曾受邀至多所大學或機構演講與擔任評審，並於數位教育平台Hahow好學校統籌製作 《攝影創作-調出電影感色彩》課程，曾領導多個主題創作工作坊，目前累積數千名學員，致力推廣美學與實驗性教育，重視學員獨特性、前瞻性、國際思維與獨立思考。

近年重心轉向導演與媒體藝術發展，作品類型有劇情短片、紀錄片、實驗電影、MV、廣告、時尚、空拍影片、沈浸式電影等。曾任獨立電影《Fish in The Moon月球裡的魚》 導演，講述失憶女子與童年創傷和解之夢境旅程，於光點華山影院放映；曾參與倫敦時裝週擔任品牌內容影音導演；近期擔任紀錄片 《Ambiguous Borders 虛實邊界之聲》導演，拍攝跨歐亞多個城市，並於國家兩廳院(台灣)首映；長期致力研究北極與全球鄉痛(Solastalgia)現象，擔任主創、導演並製作《Narstalgia 角鯨之殤》實驗電影獲多國影展肯定，後改製為沈浸式電影，陸續於英國、日本、韓國、台灣、冰島等地放映與展出，逐步擴大國際影響力。

張簡導演的跨維度創研路徑，從二維平面攝影、三維空間建築、四維電影、沈浸體驗與虛擬實境，至多維宇宙 ，因對世界常保好奇心，學習多國語言並已旅居近30國，期望藉設計與藝術之能量，療癒感動孤獨的靈魂、探索生命與宇宙的可能性。
現育有4歲狗女兒Nessie，父女倆一起生活。
